HE WHO HANGS THE STARS
He who hangs the stars
In the early evening light,
And bundles up the daylight,
So the coming night -
Might cover all the harsh things
And leave the day behind,
Keep them in the shadows,
To let the magic shine.
As early as the afternoon.
The evening shadows creep.
Sounds of singing crickets
And nests of birds; who peep.
Watch starlight wash off footsteps,
From busy, dusty streets,
Replacing them with sparkly things,
Each day, a cycle, completes.
Then the stars are taken down,
Folded nice and neat.
For he who hangs the stars at night,
Might once again repeat,
His duties for the brightness,
Seen in navy colored nights,
To await the coming darkness,
And fill the sky with lights.
Twinkling in the vastness,
Of an evening kissed with dew,
A hoot owl's call of loneliness,
Heard by a chosen few.
A million stars may twinkle,
A hundred years from today.
Yet, he who hangs the stars at night,
Is never far away.Jay Cee ~~ ©
