THE RISING OF THE PHOENIX
(The Restoration of Earth)

As I fly high
Soaring over the land,
I see annihilation,
On every hand.

The sun sets,
Deep into the west.
A sharp, stabbing pain
I feel in my chest.

Wings outstretched,
To catch the wind.
Feathered body floating,
In which it bends.

Feel free to take flight,
To the mountain tops.
Too high up,
To feel the raindrops.

Looking to the future,
In an instant, I see.
Tears well up,
And drop into the sea.

The end is near,
We saw it coming.
Destruction came,
It came in drumming.

Dancing with the devil,
He played a jovial tune.
Mankind liked the music,
And danced into doom.

Oh! Abused earth!
'Tis so sad.
To think of resources,
We once had.

The "Land of Plenty",
Left this place.
Gone on to Hell,
With an empty suitcase.

The "plenty" wasted,
Is it too late?
Will earth be destroyed?
Did greed seal its fate?

And no eagles fly.
And the rivers dry.
And the mountains cry.
And the people die.

As thunder roars,
The lightening flashes.
ARISE! The firebird,
Out of the ashes!

Oh, Phoenix, come,
To the future bow.
Please help the white man,
Who broke the vow.

To keep the land,
As the Redman had.
The Firebird rises,
He is so sad.

He broke the bonds,
Arose from the ash.
Astounded by the view,
The earth was trash.

The littered land,
For all to see.
In time, it grew dark,
Then, ceased to be.

Dry dust for soil,
Oceans of scum,
No birds or fishes,
Live in what its become.

Yet, with the Firebird,
Came a whispered spark.
A ray of hope,
Shinning through dark.

Now, as I fly high,
Over the land,
There's shades of green.
And, there is man.

Living with nature,
He is feeling free.
No sign of extinction,
Of animal or tree.

The earth is good,
Remember this,
We're hugged by sunshine,
By rain, we are kissed.

Remember the Phoenix,
As this time passes.
He arose from defeat,
Arose from the ashes.

Keep the earth clean,
And the land, pure.
Respecting nature,
And life will endure.

As I fly high,
Soaring over the land,
I now see life,
As God had planned.

Beauty came again,
To bless this place.
I think I see a smile,
Showing God's face.
