MAMA AND THE NET
Mama's on the Internet
So don't get in her way.
If you know what's good for you,
You'd best go out to play.
When supper's o'er and dishes done
And all is in its place
Get your bath and homework fast,
Or she'll be on your case!
She pushes the buttons, the modem sings,
Connection's slick and smooth.
A great big smile lights up her face
Her mouse begins to move.
To her, the sweetest sound at night;
I have never seen it fail.
Her eyes get large, there's a sigh of relief
As a voice says, "YOU'VE GOT MAIL!"
She talks to "friends" she's never met.
And helps them find lost kin.
Shares their sorrows, feels their pain
Tries hard, their hearts to mend.
She gets jokes, stories and recipes,
There's even her own WEB PAGE!
When Mama gets on the Internet-
She never acts her age!
Hard work, housework and children,
She does them all, and yet?
Mama seems much younger now,
Since she got on the Net.
