SHADOWS OF A DAY NOW DYING
The sky is gray with the look of twilight
Broken clouds soon bring the night
Gather your children old world of sunlight,
Depart until the new morning’s bright.
ON GUARD! The moon to light the darkness.
Show off your vast eternal alertness.
Give someone a star to wish upon -
As God sits mighty, upon His throne.
And places them all in the heavenly sky,
Quickly this day slips into by and by.
Darkness ascends! The moon and stars are out!
The shadows are hiding - Not one about.
What is this darkness in which we creep?
It is but a rest time in which to sleep.
